Persona
After the above research, we simulated the backgrounds of two users in real-life situations, the pain points they encountered, and the goals they hoped to achieve.
Information
Architecture
After defining the above solutions and problems, we began to think about the entire product process
Wireframe
After verifying my information architecture, we initiated the contemplation of my layout design arrangement. After that, we proceeded to draft my wireframe.
low-fidelity
After honing my concepts through a wireframe sketch, I delineated the core features and fortified the call-to-action elements, culminating in the development of my low-fidelity prototype.
Design
system
By meticulously curating colors, design layouts, and interactive elements, we developed a cohesive set of
succinct design principles.
Usability
Testing
I conducted two rounds of usability studies. The results of the first study help guide the design from wireframes to mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed which aspects of the model needed improvement.
Users are asked to complete 4 tasks, including choosing their favorite recipes, arranging recipe plans, purchasing ingredients online or searching for the nearest Tesco supermarket, uploading the ingredients they have on hand, and taking photos of what they have on hand. Ingredients.
The purpose of testing is to identify the weaknesses of the application and make it easy for users to operate in
this App.
Change 1
Contrast test
After passing the color contrast test, reduce the shade of orange so that the contrast color reaches the standard value of 1:45
Before without reducing the contrast, the value is 1:3.04
After without reducing the contrast, the value is 1:4.53
Change 2
Recipe instructions
Each stage is clearly delineated, ensuring that users can easily track their current progress in the production process.
Change 3
Ingredients Search
Optimize the interface design to allow users to quickly identify the main functions.
Final
product
The videos below demonstrate the design features to address the challenges that were discovered during the user research.
Solution #1
Preference Setting
Through the early personalized food preference settings, when the user enters the homepage, recipes based on the user's preferences will be recommended.
Solution #2
Cooking Plan
After the user confirms the recipe, the user can add the ingredient plan to a weekly meal plan.
Solution #3
Ingredient management
There are two branch functions in this function.
1. [Recipe Recommendation through Ingredient Input.]
Users can decide what recipes to make by inputting the existing ingredients at hand.
2. [Take photos of the ingredients on hand to recommend recipes.]
Users can use the shooting function to take photos of their refrigerator or existing ingredients on hand. QqickFeast will use AI technology to identify the names of the ingredients and recommend recipes that are relevant to them. User selection
Solution #4
Community Support
After completing the recipe, users can upload the results. When users enter the community page, they can see photos of previously
uploaded results to encourage the joy of cooking.
Reflection
As a cooking lover, "QuickFeast" channels my innovative spirit. My aim is to make cooking enjoyable and share this fun widely. This project, my first using design thinking, promises to influence future endeavors significantly.
Through user research, including interviews and surveys, I've reevaluated my initial ideas, refining the app’s key functions and user journey.
With more time, I'd explore additional features suggested by user feedback. For instance, a partnership with Tesco could offer users real-time specials on ingredients and recipe suggestions. I also plan to enable recipe sharing among users. Examining the app's business model, including memberships, exclusive features, ads, or brand partnerships, is crucial.
I'm excited to further develop these ideas, aiming for a day when the app significantly benefits users' lives.
